This Suncatcher Course is a one day class for beginners covering all the basic steps of a small copper foil stained glass project. Participants will learn how to cut and assemble glass, and how to foil and solder a small suncatcher design. All materials will be provided. Plus you get to take your final project home with you!

Our copper foil course is a comprehensive series of classes for beginners covering all aspects of assembly, safety, glass cutting, history, design process, metals, chemicals, tool use, different available glasses, patination, home studio, set up, and installation or hanging of the finished work. Instruction for the first four classes proceeds at the rate of the slowest member in the class. Students will complete a practice piece and a flat panel that may be hung or installed. A tool kit is offered for purchase to continue the craft at home.
This lesson includes a lecture on stained glass history, a focus on safety and best practices, and an overview of tools, techniques, types of glass, and metal chemicals. Students will also learn glass cutting (curves and straight lines), as well as how to setup a home studio.
Work session - review of techiques, first project - preparation of the design and partern, glass cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering and finishing procedures.

Our leading course covers history, technique, set up, assembly, soldering, and cementing. Particular attention is focused on safe use of lead came and reinforcing. Work sessions consist of a practice panel and a completed work that can be hung or installed. A logical continuation of the foil course.
This advanced 4 session course is focused on surface treatment techniques, acid etching, frosting, sandblasting, materials, tools, hazards and safety precautions. It will also include a lecture and demonstration of painting on glass tools and techniques, preparation of a design, setting up an easel, tracing, matting, staining, and kiln work, as well as a lesson and demonstration of glue chipping and production techniques. It will also include work sessions for the preparation and execution of a practice project.
This 4 session course includes a lecture and demonstration on fusing glass, coefficient of expansion, annealing, ramping, kiln management use of fibrefrax, compatibility testing and the spectrometer. It also focuses on mould making, castables and separators, pate de verre, slumping and draping, as well as a work session on jewelry making and dichoric glass, and an introduction to lamp work, beadmaking and hot glass forming.
